Demonic

Hauntings are uncomfortable at best and terrifying at worst, but what if the ghost in your home is more malicious than your average Casper? Can you tell the difference between a typical haunting and something demonic? It’s important to know the signs in order to protect yourself and your loved ones. Demonic hauntings can be dangerous and in some cases life threatening. Knowing the signs of a demon can help you stay safe in a horrifying situation.

Foul smells often accompany a demonic entity. These smells are putrid and pervasive. It will be impossible to ignore the smell and you won’t be able to locate its source. People who have experienced this phenomenon have said that it seems as though the smell comes from inside your own nose. The kinds of smells vary, but rotting flesh, sulfur, and sewage are commonly reported.

Growling is also known to accompany demonic hauntings. This growling is usually audible to everyone in the house but can also be revealed on EVP (electric voice phenomenon) tapes or other recordings. The growling will come from inside the house and its source will not be able to be found. The growls will not sound like a dog or any other animal in the nearby habitat. The growls are often described as monstrous.

Irrational moodiness, depression, and anger plague people being haunted by demonic entities. Moods swings will be severe and seem to happen for no reason. Anger in the house often increases. Family members will begin arguing constantly and being extremely insulting and rude to each other. In addition, depression may take over as the demon overtakes a person. Suicidal or homicidal thoughts are also common. There may also be an increased occurrence of nightmares or sleep deprivation.

The most obvious sign of a demonic haunting is deception. A demon will often use its high intelligence to trick and deceive people. This could be done by lying or using different voices to confuse you. A demon might lie and say it’s a little girl so that you’ll want to interact with it and in the process leave yourself vulnerable to attack. A demon can also impersonate a family member in order to get people alone. It might impersonate a mother’s voice and call her children into a basement or other room where they’ll be vulnerable.

Physical harm is associated with demonic hauntings more than any other type of haunting. Ghosts may scare you, but they will not typically harm you. Demons, on the other hand, have been known to scratch, bruise, and push their victims. In the worst stage of a demonic haunting, possession, a demon will completely overtake a person and do whatever it wants with their body. The physical harm of a person, especially scratches on their face and torso, are a clear sign of the demonic.

These are the most specific signs of a demonic haunting. In addition to these, the desecration of holy objects is the most obvious sign of a demon. Hopefully, most people will never have to witness these occurrences. If, however, you are being haunted or know someone who is, these are clear signs you are dealing with something more evil than a regular ghost.

You’ve determined a demon is haunting you, your family or your friends….so what now? Well, first of all—you need to come to grips that a demon and other spirits cannot normally take physical form in our world. They do not have a corporeal or earthly form. They are able to manipulate and cast illusions quite believably—but full existence on our plane is difficult for them. It has been said that demons can only be in our world for very short periods of time—akin to how we might hold our breath under water—a few seconds at a time. Knowing this, the following are some ways you can definitely use to rid yourself of this darkness.

THE INCOMPLETE GUIDE TO GETTING RID OF DEMONS

  •  Controlling Fear

Demons gain power from many things and fear is one of them. Though its easier said than done, controlling the amount of fear you have has been known to limit a demon’s ability in manipulating you. If this is not possible, maybe the following list maybe more suitable.

  •  Eliminating Negative Energy

Negative energy is related to dark activity or thoughts of an individual and something that is extremely seductive or attractive to a demon. Anger, hate, jealousy are powerful negative attractors for demons. Fighting, murder and other dark acts can provide literal “red carpets” to facilitate a demon’s control in our world. Some New Age and other belief systems will often meditate and do what is sometimes termed as “aura sealing” which one can protect themselves with. A common term in these circles is ‘protecting or wrapping yourself in the white light of the Universe.’

  •  Christian Rites

A spiritual battle must be fought with spiritual weapons! This was an early motto of the Christian Church. These are probably the most familiar to people as many films and as well as other popular media has exploited this time and time again. The fact that Christianity is one of largest religions in the world also makes this a popular choice.

Many religious rites have been used to dispel demons from possessed individuals, places, or general locations over the last several thousands of years. These techniques could have been as simple as reciting passages from the bible or as long and arduous as performing Christian based incantations and rituals across a number of days.

  • . Egyptian Rites

As contained in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, The Pert Em Hru, there are many protection chants and spells—one of which is a series of chants or speeches where you would imagine each of the of Egyptian gods and goddess before you saying various things. For example, the following are translations from the Pert Em Hru itself:

The Speech of Isis
Imagine Isis is before saying: “I have come here to protect you. I will fly with you through the air and I will initiate you with the North Wind. The breath of your flesh has returned to the go Tem but will reutnr again to you when you hunber for flesh. You shall be like a god and your enemies shall be cast down under your feet. May you be found truthful before the goddess Nuit and strong enough to receive the flesh of the gods.”

The Speech of Nephthys
Imagine Nephthys in front of you saying: “I accompany the Master of the Universe, my divine brother Osirus. I have come here to protect you. You must be a Master of the Universe to overcome the Two Lands. Meditation will assist you. Indeed, truth-speaking will also help. You can be raised up by truth-speaking and by your actions and then the god Ptah will cast down your enemies.”

  •  Native American Rites

Native Americans would often use the technique of “smudging” to get rid of evil or residential spirits, hauntings or demons. Smudging involves the burning of various herbs—sometimes accompanied with chants or other recitations.

A smudge stick is a bundle of dried herbs, most commonly white sage (Salvia apiana). Often other herbs or plants are added, and the leaves are usually bound with string in a small bundle and dried. Additional herbs and spices that are often used in contemporary practices include cilantro, cedar, lavender, and mugwort. All have a strong, pleasant aroma when burnt.

The English word smudge stick was first applied to describe a specific tool used in North American Native traditions, particularly those that include shamanism. The binding of smudge sticks for many traditions was a sacred intentional process in and of itself. Using scent and scented smoke in rites of purification, whether through smudging (the process of using a smudge stick) or burning incense, is common in many traditional cultures around the world, as noted in ethnographic literature.

  •  Go With The Pros (Get A Demonologist)

A demonologist is one who studies demons and is not only familiar with demons around the world….they also have knowledge of how to repel or banish demons. Even though they themselves may not perform rituals of that kind, a demonologist would know the type of person you should contact for help.

Sigil's such as these have been use to "trap" demons or people possessed demons to be able to face them for exorcism. This is from the Key of Solomon, an ancient magickal text supposed to have been written by King Solomon himself.

  • LAST WORDS (Last Rites)

All this really boils down to one thing…any personal belief or faith can work, it’s really the will and intent you put behind it. It’s interesting that in most rituals, regardless of culture or continent, the act of getting rid of demons involves you as a conduit or gateway where you imagine yourself as a god, taking on god-like qualities or confronting gods and then performing some sort of ritual. Even in the case of the Roman Catholic Exorcism, an ordained priest is supposed to “stand in place of Christ,” before commencing with the exorcism.
